Schusterman Center

For three weeks each summer, all of Israel is the classroom for the Schusterman Center for Israel Studies. Professor Ilan Troen and other staff from the center travel to Israel to immerse college instructors from all over the world in the country's culture and history. These "students" then integrate their newfound knowledge into their teaching.

Founded in 1948, Brandeis quickly established an international reputation. The ground-breaking Wien International Scholarship Program (see the 50th anniversary celebration, top) pioneered international education in the U.S., giving more than 800 promising young leaders from over 100 countries a chance for a high-quality education.
